The downloads are both large, over 20 MB each, so if you don't
have a highspeed connection, we would be happy to send you the trial
version on CD. But before purchasing Open Dental, you should be aware that a highspeed internet connection is almost a requirement because that's how we provide quality support. The trial version is fully functional except that there
is a 30 patient limit. The download includes a blank database which
is identical to the one we normally distribute with the application
and it also includes a demo database with a few patients in it.

Step 2b: (only if using Windows 2000 or if you have
a slow connection) Install the Microsoft dotNET

If you get an error message after the installation of MySQL: It's probably because you are on Vista. Carefully follow the instructions in step 3. But since you already successfully installed the first two items, you can uncheck those boxes along the left side before clicking Install.
Hints:
Remember to Right click, Run as Administrator if you're using
Vista.
