You
must be using Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista.
If you have any problems at all installing it, please call us immediately
and we will help you. Toll free 1-866-239-0469.
The downloads are both large, over 20 MB each, so if you don't
have a highspeed connection, we would be happy to send you the trial
version on CD. But before purchasing Open Dental, you should be aware that a highspeed internet connection is almost a requirement because that's how we provide quality support. The trial version is fully functional except that there
is a 30 patient limit. The download includes a blank database which
is identical to the one we normally distribute with the application
and it also includes a demo database with a few patients in it.
Step One: Download the trial version by clicking here: TrialDownload-5-7-16.exe (If
using Vista, you might have to download first by rightclick, "Save Target
As..." Then
right click on the downloaded file, and run as administrator). After downloading and
running, the following window will come up:

Step Two: Select Unzip to save the files to the given location and to automatically
run the installation program. If, for some reason, you need to
run in again later, a copy will be on your harddrive at the specified
location

Step Three: (only If
the window above won't come up,
and you instead get an error message) If this is the case, then you are probably
on an older computer. You
will need to install the Microsoft dotNET framework
version 2.0. (Select "Open" when given a choice). If the dotNET framework
installer won't even run, then you will also need to first install Microsoft Windows
Installer 3.1: WindowsInstaller31.exe (Select "Open" when
given a choice).
Step
Four: At the top of this window, select the 'New Server' option.
The appropriate checkboxes will be marked. Click Install. Follow the directions carefully.
Hints:
Remember to Right click, Run as Administrator if you're using
Vista.
See the troubleshooting
section if you are having problems or give us a call.
If you need to install to multiple computers, see the Installing
